Truck ban in Nagtahan Flyover starts Feb. 20

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) temporarily banned trucks from entering the Nagtahan Flyover in Manila starting February 20.

This was after the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) made a recommendation to reduce the number of cars travelling on the bridge to avoid further damage to its infrastructure. It will remain open for light vehicles.

According to the DPWH, the Nagtahan Flyover is included in the list of bridges that need to be repaired.

The MMDA advised affected heavy vehicle drivers to take the following alternative routes:

Southbound heavy vehicles may take Earnshaw Street, Legarda Street, Ayala Street, P. Burgos Street to Roxas Boulevard.

Northbound heavy vehicles may take Quirino Avenue to Roxas Boulevard; Quirino Avenue Extension to United Nations Avenue to Roxas Boulevard.
