TS ‘Odette’ out of PAR Friday or Saturday: PAGASA

MANILA—Tropical storm “Odette” is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) Friday night or early Saturday, state weather agency Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

As “Odette” moves west southwest at 24 kilometers per hour, typhoon Signal No. 2 was hoisted over the provinces of Batanes, Cagayan, including the Babuyan Group of Islands, Apayao and Ilocos Norte.

In its 8 a.m. severe weather bulletin, PAGASA said “Odette” has maximum winds of 75 kph near the center and moving West at 24 km/h

Under Signal No. 1 are the provinces of Isabela, Kalinga, Abra, Mountain Province, La Union, Benguet, Ifugao and Ilocos Sur.

Central Luzon, the rest of Cagayan Valley and the Ilocos Region will have cloudy skies with moderate to heavy rains with thunderstorms.

Visayas, Metro Manila, Zamboanga Peninsula and the rest of of Luzon will likely experience cloudy skies with scattered lightning and thunderstorms.
