Tuguegarao police readies security plan for Misa de Gallo

TUGUEGARAO CITY — The Tuguegarao City Police Station has readied security measures for the upcoming Misa de Gallo from December 16 to 24.

Police Superintendent Edward Guzman, city police chief, said Thursday the security preparation is an annual support program of the police to secure church-goers during the dawn masses.

He said they would deploy both uniformed and non-uniformed police personnel to the different Catholic churches in the city to secure these places.

Police visibility and mobile patrol would be conducted to deter street crimes like pickpocketing, snatching, swindling and roberry/hold-up, Guzman said.

“The presence of police personnel in the church will prevent criminals from engaging in illegal activities against the people who will be entering Roman Catholic churches during the duration of the dawn masses,” he added.

Checkpoints manned by the city public safety company and assistance centers will also be activated to check motorists coming in and out of the city. (PNA)
