US-based Pinoy org seeks help to trace Pinay nanny’s family

MANILA — The Migrant Heritage Commission (MHC), a non-profit Filipino civic group based in Washington, is appealing to the public to trace the whereabouts of the family of Trinidad “Inday” Gillis, a nanny working in the United States, who was rushed to a hospital in Washington and is now in serious condition.

The appeal was sent by MHC director Grace Valera to the Philippine News Agency (PNA) on Friday after finding out that Gillis lives alone in his apartment in Washington, DC.

Valera said Gillis is presently confined and in comatose at the George Washington University Hospital.

According to her friend Thelma Caspe, Gillis was brought to the hospital thru a 911 call.

Valera said MHC had no idea whom to contact with since the patient has no address where her family and relatives live in the Philippines or elsewhere in America.

In an e-mail, Valera said that Jesse Gatchalian, MHC executive director, visited Gillis at the hospital last Thursday to check her condition.

Any information about the family or relatives of Mrs. Gillis can be relayed by calling ‎202 631 8856, ‎202 817 1404 in the US or send an e-mail to [email protected]. (Ben Cal/PNA)
