
United States Under Secretary for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland met with security officials in the country on Monday, March 6, as part of her three-day visit in the Philippines and Japan.
The US Embassy in the Philippines shared in a post that the official met with National Security Council of the Philippines Advisor and Director General Eduardo Año to tackle the promotion of law around the world.
The US Department of State earlier said Nuland will be in Manila and Tokyo on March 6 to 9.
She was scheduled to meet with senior government officials to discuss US-Philippines ties, including “shared interest in deepening economic, security, and people-to-people ties.”
“She will also consult with Philippine leaders on the full range of global issues and meet with civil society and young innovators,” the US Department of State said.
Meanwhile, Nuland will join her G7 Political Director counterparts for broad ranging consultations on global challenges during her visit in Tokyo. – Katrina Gracia Consebido-ag
