Utility firm receives power discount for prompt payment

DUMAGUETE CITY – The Negros Oriental II Electric Cooperative (NORECO II) has received a 3.2 percent prompt payment discount (PPD) from the Green Core Geothermal, Inc. (GCGI).

The GCGI gives the discount to its clients who pay their bills promptly, according to NORECO II general manager Dionefred Macahig.

Records provided by the NORECO II show where it got its PPD for the billing month of January, as follows: amount of PPD from GCGI (previous month’s power bill) was pegged at PHP 2.938 million.

The “should be pass on generation charge per kWh” is at PHP 5.0813, while the “actual pass on generation charge per kWh is at PHP 5.0284.

The reduction in generation charge per kWh is PHP 0.0529 while the reduction in generation charge per month for every 100 kWh used is at PHP 5.29, the NORECO II said.

NORECO II has consistently received a prompt payment discount from GCGI, which supplies the electric cooperative with its electricity requirements, for being on time with its payments. (Mary Judaline Partlow/PNA)
