Valenzuela Rep. Gatchalian appeals delay in mandatory use of RFID

A solon appealed to delay the implementation of the cashless toll collection in expressways.

Valenzuela Representative Wes Gatchalian suggested that the radio frequency identification system of EasyTrip and Autosweep must first be interoperable before full implementation. It is better to impose the cashless toll collection scheme on full inter-operability of the 2 RFID systems next year.

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) initially announced the mandatory implementation of the cashless toll collection in expressways starting December 1, 2020. – PTV News
