Vax acceptance rate in Region 2 increases

The COVID-19 vaccine acceptance rate in Cagayan Valley (Region 2) has increased, the Regional Vaccination Operations Center (RVOC) said Monday (July 19).

According to RVOC Head Joyce Maquera, the local government units (LGUs) in Region 2 have requested for more vaccine doses to be allocated to their respective cities and municipalities as many of their residents have registered for vaccination.

However, due to the limited supply of COVID-19 vaccine doses deployed to the region, some vaccination sites had to temporarily stop administering vaccines and wait until supplies arrive in Region 2.

As of Monday, about 250,000 out of the 1.2 million target population in Cagayan Valley have been vaccinated with their first dose.

The national vaccination program has administered a total of 15,096,261 COVID-19 vaccine doses as of Sunday (July 18).

Of this, 10,388,188 were first dose inoculations, while the remaining 4,708,073 were second doses. – Report from Dina Villacampa (Radyo Pilipinas) / CF  – jlo
