VCO trial for COVID-19 cure nears completion

One of the trials conducted by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) for the Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) as cure for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is nearing completion.

According to DOST Secretary Fortunato Dela Peña, there are 2 trials being executed regarding the VCO. One is for the moderate and severe cases where it is still in its recruitment phase and the second is for the suspected and probable cases wherein it is expected to be finished within September.

DOST Sec. Dela Peña is expecting to have a report regarding the trial by November. Meanwhile, the Science and Technology Chief assured that other trials for the cure and vaccine against COVID-19 are still ongoing. – Report from Mela Lesmoras
