Victims pleased with the long-awaited court ruling on the Maguindanao massacre case

The relatives of the of victims are pleased on the condemnation of the accused individuals in the decade-long Maguindanao massacre case. Second District, Maguindanao Representative Esmael Mangudadatu, whose wife and other relatives were slain in the gruesome multi-murder, is also glad of the court’s decision. “Pasalamat sa lahat ng mga media na tumutok. Pasalamat kay Mayor Digong. Pasalamat sa Panginoon at lahat ng mga biktima na hindi sumuko” (Thanks to all the media that focused on the case. Thanks to Mayor Digong. Thanks to God and to all victims that did not give up), gratifies Mangudadatu.

The lawyers of the victim also celebrate the case’s outcome.

Although the Ampatuan clan did not give its statement, the PTV News was able get a word from Mamasapano Vice Mayor Tahirodin Benzar A. Ampatuan, a grandson of accused Datu Andal Ampatuan Sr. who died in 2015. “Sana makita rin ng lahat na hindi porket akusado ka, ‘yon na ‘yon; so, mayro’n pa tayong rule of law. So, kailangan ng process” (I wish that everyone see that not because someone is accused, that is it; so, we have the rule of law. So, there is a need for the process), requests the Mamasapano vice mayor.

The victims are open for any appeal on the part of the accused people.
