KAWIT, Cavite — Senator Cynthia A. Villar will lead this year’s Independence Day celebration at the General Emilio F. Aguinaldo Shrine in Barangay Kaingen here on June 12.

Organizers said the theme for this year’s celebration is “Kalayaan 2019: Pagbabagong Ipinaglaban, Alay sa Masaganang Kinabukasan”.

Villar is scheduled to simultaneously lead the wreath-laying ceremony at the tomb of the country’s first president, Gen. Aguinaldo, located at the back of the mansion and flag-raising at the balcony at 8 a.m.

Aguinaldo, Cavite 1st District Representative Boy Blue Aguinaldo Abaya, and other descendants of Aguinaldo will be gracing the event marking the country’s emancipation from foreign bondage.

A Trade and Job fair will also take place in the morning at the Freedom Park while cultural presentations and other historical activities are set at 4 p.m. at the Shrine.
