Vizcaya upland village gets P1M water system

DUPAX DEL NORTE, Nueva Vizcaya –– Villagers in Barangay Belance here on Tuesday received PHP1 million for the improvement of their potable water system that will benefit close to 500 families.

Governor Carlos Padilla said the assistance for the project was designed to improve health conditions of upland villagers who were mostly relying on various water sources in their community.

Padilla said the water system project would also help prevent health problems of upland villagers due to their reliance on unsafe sources of drinking water.

He said the project would also help farmers in watering their backyard farms and vegetable gardens within their homes for economic and domestic purposes.

Padilla also gave more than PHP.5 million to the St. Joseph Rural Water and Sanitation Association, also in Barangay Belance to improve their existing water system project. (Brandon John T. Ebreo /PNA)
