VP Leni: ‘Real self-change can transform the nation’

MANILA — In celebration of Jesus Christ’s resurrection, Vice President Leni Robredo on Easter Sunday said real change in the country can only be achieved through self-change.

In a message, Robredo said Filipinos must understand that real self-change can transform the whole nation, and it includes changes that are rooted in hearing and respecting fellowmen — resulting in genuine charity.

(Let’s take the teachings of Jesus Christ into our daily lives. As in the example He has shown, let us protect those who were forgotten, lost and left behind),” Robredo said.

Robredo urged Filipinos to draw strength and inspiration from Jesus Christ’s example to serve as light of hope for the farthest and poorest community.

Maglakad tayo kasama nila, makinig, at bigyang-boses ang naaapi at mahina. (Let’s walk with them, listen, and let us be the voice of the oppressed and weak),” Robredo said.

Robredo added the force which pulls Filipinos together is much stronger than the challenges, she said, that were plaguing the country.

(We may have different roots, opposing beliefs, I have faith that the force binding us together is much stronger than the force dividing our country),” Robredo said. (Ma.
