In a meeting held on December 18, the National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC) simultaneously approved two wage orders granting a salary increase for workers in Region X and NCR, respectively.

The NWPC has affirmed Wage Order No. RX-23, issued by Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) X for private sector workers in Northern Mindanao.

This grants an increase of P23 for the non-agriculture sector and P35 for the agriculture sector to be given in two tranches.

These increases will bring the minimum wage rates in the region to a range of P446 to P461 upon full implementation and will effectively eliminate the sectoral rate differentiation between the non-agriculture and agriculture sectors.

Likewise, the NWPC also approved Wage Order No. NCR-DW-05, which was issued by RTWPB National Capital Region (NCR).

This grants a P500 monthly salary increase for domestic workers (kasambahays) across the region, increasing the sector’s monthly minimum wage to P7,000.

The wage orders of RTWPB X and NCR will take effect on January 12, 2025 and January 4, 2025, respectively.
