Warm weather is expected in most parts of the country and rains are also likely due to the easterlies and localized thunderstorms, the weather bureau said Friday, June 17.
“No weather disturbance was seen (to affect the country) until the weekend. Also, there is only a slim chance that a weather disturbance would develop until the end of the month,” Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.
On Friday, the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) affecting Mindanao will bring cloudy skies and rains over many areas, such as Caraga, Northern Mindanao, the Zamboanga Peninsula, the Davao Region, and Soccsksargen.
“Light to moderate to at times heavy rains are forecast. Take precautions against possible flooding and landslides,” it said.
Meanwhile, fair weather is expected in Luzon. Rains are likely in the afternoon due to localized thunderstorms.
The temperature could reach 35 °C in Tuguegarao and up to 34 °C in Metro Manila. The maximum temperature in Laoag, the Kalayaan Islands, Puerto Princesa and Legazpi could reach 33 °C.
It will be warm and humid at noon in the Visayas. Rains may also be experienced in the afternoon.
Tacloban, Iloilo, Davao and Zamboanga’s temperatures could reach up to 32 °C.
Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas will continue to prevail across the archipelago. (PNA)
