Weather systems to bring isolated rain showers across PH

By Ma. Cristina Arayata | Philippine News Agency

MANILA – The northeast monsoon affecting northern and central Luzon and the easterlies affecting the rest of the country will cause isolated rain showers on Tuesday (Nov.23), the weather bureau said.

Batanes, the Babuyan Islands, Cagayan, and Isabela will experience light rains due to the northeast monsoon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in its 4:00 a.m. weather bulletin.

Isolated light rains will dampen the Ilocos and Cordillera regions, the rest of Cagayan Valley, and Central Luzon.

PAGASA forecast isolated rain showers or thunderstorms caused by the easterlies to prevail over the rest of the country.

“Take precautions against possible flooding and landslides, especially during severe thunderstorms,” weather forecaster Grace Castañeda of PAGASA said.

Castañeda added that there is no weather disturbance inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will continue to prevail over northern and central Luzon.

Gale warning has been issued over the seaboards of northern Luzon (Batanes, Cagayan, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, and Pangasinan). Fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the sea while larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas. (PNA) – bny
