Western Visayas Sanitarium gets new chief

ILOILO CITY — The Western Visayas Sanitarium in Santa Barbara, Iloilo has a new chief.

In a media interview Monday, Provincial Administrator Raul Banias, also the chief of the Hospital Management Office (HMO), said the office of the Secretary of the Department of Health (DOH) has chosen Dr. Judy Ann Dumayas to become the chief of hospital, replacing concurrent officer-in-charge Dr. Gary Ong.

Banias said Dumayas has been asked to submit necessary documents so she could already assume office.

“We assume by June, she can be installed already as the new chief of hospital,” he said.

Banias further said Dumayas is concurrently Provincial Health Officer I assigned at the HMO and in-charge of the technical support service.

She is also serving as the officer-in-charge of the Sara District Hospital for two weeks now, replacing Dr. Jeremiah Obañana who retired from service.

“She (Dumayas) has a very rich experience in hospital management. Academically, she is qualified being a graduate of Master in Public Health in the University of the Philippines -Manila,” Banias said.

“In her long experience of supervising our hospitals, I think she will bring her rich experience in her new position in the sanitarium,” he added.

With the new appointment of Dumayas, Banias said Dr.Armando Dumdum, concurrent chief of Hospital of Barotac Viejo District Hospital, will replace her. (Cindy Ferrer/PNA
