Work in government offices under the executive department on April 5 will be suspended from 12:00 p.m. onwards, Malacañang announced on Friday, March 31.

This is through Memorandum Circular No. 16 signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin.

“In observance of the regular holidays on April 6 and 7, 2023, and to give government employees ample time to travel to and from different regions in the country, work in government offices on April 5, 2023 is suspended from 12:00 PM onwards,” the announcement read.

Government offices in the health sector, disaster and response, and those with vital services “shall continue their operations and render the necessary services.”

“The suspension of work in private companies and offices is left to the sound discretion of their respective employers,” the memorandum read.

Palace earlier reminded the public of the long weekend in observance of the Holy Week from April 6 to 8, and the commemoration of the Day of Valor on April 10. – cf
