Work prompts residents to vote early in Antique

SAN JOSE De BUENAVISTA, Antique — Minutes before the opening of polling precincts here, many Antiquenos already lined up hoping to cast their votes early at 7 a.m.

The early voters said they still have to attend to their business so they decided to cast their ballots early.
“I still need to open my store this morning,” Ronaldo Cabriela of Barangay 8 in San Jose de Buenavista said in an interview, adding that he expects many customers.

Victorio Sernicula of Esperanza I in Sibalom town said that he has many work to do that he voted early.

“So far the election process went smoothly and fast,” Sernicula said.

He said that the polling precinct in Esperanza I opened right on time with the Board of Election Tellers ready to assist them.

“I noticed also that the senior citizens, persons with disability and pregnant women were being given priority,” he said.

Throughout the province there are 1,174 clustered precincts with 3,500 teachers who constitute the Electoral Board (EB).
