Zambo region police fete 11 cops

The Police Regional Office-9 (PRO-9) has awarded medals to four officials and seven personnel for their accomplishments in anti-illegal drugs campaign and the arrest of a most wanted person in the region.

Awarded for the Medalya ng Kagalingan (PNP Merit Medal) were the following: Major Mark Anthony Karanain, chief of the Zamboanga City Police Office’s Station 6; Lieutenant Ahmed Czar Annuary; Chief Master Sergeant Julambri Hadjimuddin, Corporal Abdilla Arip, and Private Jescil Montecillo, all from the Police Station 6.

They were cited for their meritorious conduct and devotion to duty during the conduct of anti-illegal drugs operation on March 1, 2019 in Barangay Talon-Talon that resulted to the arrest of Meriam Kamdon, who was caught in possession of some PHP2.7 million worth of suspected shabu.

Police Major Nestor Gania Jr., Senior Master Sergeant Julito Asentista and Corporal Dioscoro Ello Jr., of Katipunan, Zamboanga del Norte were awarded Medalya ng Kagalingan for the arrest of Arturo Dumandan, number one most wanted person in that town on March 1, 2019.

Also awarded with Medalya ng Kagalingan were Police Lieutenant Jaycel Cabarrubias, Master Sergeant Bryan Acojedo, and Corporal Freddie Baang, all assigned in Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur.

They were cited for the arrest of two most wanted persons identified as Melanie Bajo, Top 7 most wanted, and Elmer Pangate, Top 8 most wanted, on January 22, 2019 in Barangay Bulanit, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur.

The awarding was held during Monday’s flag ceremony at Camp Col. Romeo Abendan, this city, with Police Maj. Gen. Elmo Francis Sarona, Directorate of Investigation and Management Division director, and Police General Emmanuel Luis Licup, PRO-9 director, leading the ceremony.

Licup said the awardees brought honor and prestige to the police organization and that they are worthy of praise and emulation by their peers.
