₱4.89 M worth of ecstasy seized in Manila

Authorities seized ₱4.89 million worth of the party drug ecstasy in Manila.

Based on the report of the Philippine National Police-Drug Enforcement Group (PNP-DEG), the contraband was intercepted in a controlled delivery operation at the Philpost Manila Central Office.

More than 2,000 tablets were discovered in a parcel from an individual named Mary Lumbao Edwards in the Netherlands. This was to be received by Susan Lumbao from Malate, Manila. Operatives have arrested the recipient identified as Ronron Salonga and is currently facing charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act and Customs Modernization and Tariff Act.

According to the Bureau of Customs (BOC)-NAIA, the package that came from the Netherlands was declared as clothes and shoes. Report from Bea Bernardo
