1 dead due to ‘Domeng’: NDRRMC

MANILA — Inclement weather due to typhoon “Domeng” has so far caused the death of a 27-year-old man in El Nido, Palawan and flooding in 43 barangays in the National Capital Region and Calabarzon, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said in its Monday afternoon update.

NDRRMC executive director Ricardo Jalad identified the sole fatality as Algemon Dalisam Nunez, a resident of Barangay Corong-Corong, El Nido and an employee of the Orange Pearl Resort located in the above-mentioned locality.

The victim’s body was discovered by an African national around 7:40 p.m. of June 8. Reportedly, Nunez went missing when his jetski toppled earlier.

As of this posting, flooding reported in 37 of the 43 barangays reported above has already subsided.

Also, heavy rains caused by “Domeng” has forced various areas in the National Capital Region, Calabarzon, Mimaropa and Eastern Visayas to suspend classes. (Priam Nepomuceno/PNA)
