10 arrested in Bulacan anti-illegal drug ops

CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan — Ten drug personalities were arrested and illegal drugs were confiscated in a series of operations conducted by police operatives in Bulacan in two days.

Bulacan police director Senior Supt. Romeo Caramat Jr. said the police operations were conducted in the cities of San Jose del Monte and Meycauayan and in the towns of Santa Maria, San Miguel, Plaridel, and Hagonoy on Thursday and Friday morning.

Those arrested in City of San Jose del Monte were identified as Irish Corpuz from Barangay Mulawin, Melencio Ignacio of Barangay San Martin 1, and Esperanza Masagca, who was included in a new drugs watchlist, also of Barangay San Martin 1.

Those nabbed in Meycauayan City, on the other hand, was Mark Anthony Regoso, alias Macmac, from Barangay Calvario.

In Santa Maria, the two arrested drug suspects were Marlon Abarracoso and Mary Joy Margallo, both residents of Barangay Caysio.

In Plaridel, those apprehended were Dennis Dela Cruz, alias Zaido, from Barangay San Jose and Dante Javier of Barangay San Juan, Cainta, Rizal.

Also arrested were Bernabe Santos, a former Oplan Tokhang surrenderer of Barangay Pinambaran, San Miguel; and Ernesto Juliano of Barangay San Sebastian, Hagonoy.

Caramat said a total of 49 plastic sachets of shabu, drug paraphernalia and buy-bust money were confiscated from the suspects.

The arrested suspects and seized pieces of evidence were brought to Bulacan Crime Laboratory Office for appropriate examination.

The suspects will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (PNA)
