In a statement Thursday, the Philippine National Police Counter Intelligence Task Force (PNP CITF) confirmed the filing of kidnapping and robbery charges against the rogue policemen led by Senior Insp. Wilfredo Dizon Jr. before the Department of Justice on Monday.

Aside from Dizon, also charged were SPO4 Gary Santos; SPO2 Christopher Aragon; SPO1 Dante Castillo; SPO1 Jophey Cucal; SPO1 Rolando Ignacio Jr.; PO3 Dennis De Vera; PO2 Rosauro Enrile;PO2 Nicanor Bautista; and PO2 Chester Say-eo.

Dizon is the deputy chief of the San Rafael Municipal Police Station and had been commended as Best Junior Police Commissioned Officer by the provincial government of Bulacan last September.

The complainants, whose names were withheld for security reasons, claimed that the 10 policemen demanded and received PHP50,000 in exchange for their release after they were arrested last May 19 for committing an unknown crime. (PNA)
