10 flights delayed in Bicol airport due to bomb joke

Ten Cebu Pacific flights were delayed at the Bicol International Airport (BIA) due to a bomb joke on Monday morning, Oct. 2.

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) responded to a request for security assistance by Cebu Pacific Airlines Flight 5J 326 which was scheduled to depart at 10:45 a.m. from BIA to Manila.

Two Philippine Airlines flights have also been affected by the incident: PR 2915 (Manila to BIA) and PR 2916 (BIA to Manila).

CAAP is coordinating with the Philippine National Police-Aviation Security Group to find out more information about the incident.

“As of writing, the 130 passengers of flight 5J 326 are already boarding for Manila,” CAAP said in its third update,

“As investigations are still ongoing, CAAP, in coordination with the PNP-AVSEU, is working closely to find out more information regarding the incident,” it added. – ag
