109 examinees pass foreign service exam

MANILA — More than 100 out of the 628 examinees were declared Career Foreign Service Officer eligible by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) on Monday.

About 109 or 17.36 percent of the total number of examinees passed the Career Service Examination for Foreign Service Officer (CSE-FSO) held on January 28, 2018.

Christopher Cruz from NCR topped the exam with an average of 89.47. Bai Ashrafia Aymee Biruar from Region XI (Davao Region) with an 87.89 rating while, Jestoni Urbano from Region VIII (Eastern Visayas) obtained 86.32.

The CSC said such eligibility is appropriate to first (clerical) and second (technical) level positions in the government. Both positions do not involve the practice of a profession and are not covered by the bar, board, and other laws.

The CSE-FSO is the first step to the five-part Foreign Service Officer Examination (FSOE) administered by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

The succeeding parts include a preliminary interview, written, psychological, and oral tests. Should the CSE-FSO passers excel in the FSOE, they become candidates for Foreign Service Officer Class IV position in DFA. (Ma. Teresa Montemayor/PNA)
