130 villages in Maguindanao declared drug-free

COTABATO CITY — The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency – Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PDEA-ARMM) has declared 130 villages in Maguindanao as “drug-free.”

The pronouncement came on Wednesday after PDEA-ARMM declared five more villages, namely Barangays Ganoy, Penditin, and Animao in Datu Salibo and Barangays Kitango and Kabinge in Datu Saudi Ampatuan, to the list of villages cleared from the illegal drug menace.

Maguindanao has 508 villages in 36 municipalities divided under two congressional districts.

PDEA-ARMM Director Juvenal Azurin carefully assessed and validated the updated list, the report said.

The provincial government under the leadership of Governor Esmael Mangudadatu has continued to call on constituents to support and cooperate with the anti-drug war of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte administration. (PNA).
