1,473 high value targets arrested; 8,315 recorded – PNP

A total of 8,315 High Value Targets (HVTs) were recorded nationwide into the spate of relentless efforts of the Philippine National Police against the proliferation of illegal drugs, latest information from the Directorate for Operations(DO) showed.

Police Director Camilo Pancratius Pascua Cascolan of the PNP Directorate for Operations said the data of total high value personalities covered from July 1, 2016 to September 19, 2017.

Generated data showed the 1,473 HVT personalities were already nabbed, while 145 died during the conduct of police operations, Cascolan said.

Cascolan also added 105 were registered as homicide cases, and subject to further thorough investigations are underway.

In addition, the data bared that 3,489 HVTs have surfaced and surrendered, they are still under the watch of the authorities.

Moreover, the remaining 3,103 HVTs were classified as either deceased, undergoing rehabilitation, monitored to be in other country, and mostly reported as “cannot be located in their respective areas”.

Latest Real Numbers on Anti-Illegal Drugs Campaign, on the other hand, said there are 1,308,078 drug personalities appeared and surrendered, while 113,932 were arrested in connection with the unwavering efforts of the PNP and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) from July 1, 2016 to September 26, 2017.

More than 90% of the anti-drug efforts of the government as a whole was accomplished by the PNP, report said. (PNP-PIO)
