PH Poomsae Team, 3rd Overall in Beirut Tilt

The Philippine Taekwondo-Poomsae Team raked in ten medals at the 6th World Taekwondo Asian Poomsae Championships on Monday at the Nouhad Naufal Indoor Stadium in Beirut, Lebanon. 

The National Poomsae Team made it to a podium finish in all the events where its members competed in and clinched a total of two gold, three silver, and five bronze medals. 

Bearing gold were Darius Venerable for the Men’s Individual Freestyle Over 17 and the group of Janna Dominique Olivia, Juvenile Faye Crisostomo, Jeordan Dominguez, Justin Kobe Macario and Marvin Mori for the Mixed Freestyle Over 17. 

June Ninobla who tackled the Men’s Individual Under 60, Olivia for the Women’s Individual Freestyle Over 17, and Crisostomo and Venerable for the Mixed Pair Over 17 brought home silver medals, while Rodolfo Reyes who figured in the Men’s Individual Under 30, and Jocel Lyn Ninobla in the Women’s Individual Under 30 brought home bronze medals. 

The Men’s Team Under 30 including Juaquin Tuzon, Reyes and Patrick King Perez followed suit and so did Aidaine Krishia Laxa, Rinna Babanto and Ninobla of the Women’s Under 30. 

Perez and Babanto got the bronze in the Mixed Pair Under 30. 

Venerable and Crisostomo were awarded the Most Valuable Players in the competition. -rir
