Senado, kinalampag para ipasa na ang Permanent Evacuation Centers Bill

Pinamamadali ni Deputy Minority Leader Carlos Zarate sa Senado ang pagpapatibay sa panukalang Permanent Evacuation Centers Bill.

Ayon kay Zarate, hindi na dapat hintayin pa ang isang mala-Yolanda o Odette na bagyo bago tuluyang ipasa ang panukala para sa pagtatayo ng mga evacuation shelters.

Oras na maisabatas, nilalayon nitong mahinto na ang paggamit sa mga paaralan at mga private facilities bilang temporary evacuation centers.

Dahil sa madalas ring daanan ng bagyo ang bansa, titiyakin na disaster resilient ang naturang evacuation centers na may sapat na stockpile ng pagkain, tubig, gamot maging communication equipment.

Marso pa ng taong ito nang pagtibayin ng Kamara sa ikatlong pagbasa ang panukala habang nakabinbin pa rin ito sa Senado.  -bny
