Toll board approves toll rate in SCTEX

The Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) has approved on Saturday, May 28, the toll rate adjustment for Subic Clark Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) starting June 1.

The TRB has authorized the new toll rate of an additional P0.78 per kilometer.

The new toll rate for Class 1 vehicles traveling from Mabalacat to Tarlac will have an increase of P0.78 per kilometer, while vehicles with Class 2 classification traveling on the same route will have P1.57 per kilometer increase. Class 3 vehicles will have to pay an added P2.35 per kilometer.

According to NLEX Corporation, the toll increase went through regulatory procedures and thorough reviews.

It added that the public utility buses will be provided toll subsidies, and will enjoy the old rates for the next three months to let them cope with the implemented adjustment.

“To support the public utility buses (PUBs) to cope with the adjustment, they will be provided toll subsidies and allow them to continue to enjoy the old rates for the next three months,” it stated.  – ag
