2 drug syndicate members fall in Zambo

ZAMBOANGA CITY, July 1 — The police on Saturday announced the arrest of two suspected members of a drug syndicate in Zamboanga Sibugay.

Chief Insp. Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-9 (PRO-9) information officer, identified the arrested suspects as Jameson Soque, 30 and Daryl Soque, 26, of Barangay Veteran Village, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Galvez said the suspects were arrested by joint police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in a buy-bust operation around 2:40 p.m. Friday in Barangay Veterans Village, Ipil municipality.

She said the suspects are members of the Joel Mariano Drug Group, who is involved in the distribution of hard drugs in the town of Ipil and Naga, Zamboanga Sibugay.

She said the arresting team confiscated the suspects were a caliber .45 pistol with live ammunition, nine small packs of white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, and other hard drug paraphernalia.

She said the suspects were placed in the custody of PDEA for booking and proper disposition. (TPGJR/PNA)
