2 Marikina City employees nabbed for cable theft

MANILA — Two Marikina City employees have been arrested for using their government-issued truck and equipment to steal cable wire from posts.

Arnold Salvatierra and Emil Domingo, both of the Marikina City Engineering Department, were arrested by Marikina City police for theft that was committed along JP Rizal St., Nangka, Marikina before midnight Monday.

The two were arrested by operatives of the Marikina Police Community Precinct Station 5 following a complaint by PLDT security supervisor, Danilo San Juan.

In a report to the National Capital Regional Police Office, Marikina City police said the two suspects, “with (the) use of aerial boom truck and steel saw owned by the City Government, managed to detached, took, steal and carted away from the concrete post the cable wire measures approximately 60 meters long.”

Police valued the PLDT cable at about PHP25,000.
