PDEA nabs couple, seizes P150K worth of ‘shabu’ in Legazpi

LEGAZPI CITY — A couple suspected of selling illegal drugs here was arrested in an operation by Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) operatives on Tuesday evening.

Nabbed were Manuelito Jacobe, 48, and his wife Gloria, 47, of Barangay Puro here. Seized from them was PHP150,000 worth of suspected “shabu” or crystal meth, which was kept inside their room.

The suspects were rounded up based on a search warrant served at their residence in Purok 1 of Barangay Puro at about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, said Edwin Lucero, PDEA-Albay chief.

The couple is considered a high-value target as they have been reported to be operating and maintaining a drug network in barangays Sabang and Puro, he added.

Lucero said they have also validated information that the couple has links with big-time illegal drug traders in the National Bilibid Prison.

The couple is now detained at the PDEA regional detention facility, facing charges of illegal drug possession. (Mar Serrano/PNA)
