BAGUIO CITY — Twin earthquakes, with magnitudes 4.7 and 3.8, hit some parts of this city and the rest of the Cordillera region five minutes apart around noon Tuesday.
The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) – Cordillera said the epicenter of the quake, the first of which struck at 12:12 p.m., was recorded 7 km. north of Kayapa, Nueva Vizcaya.
The first jolt had a depth of 6 km. while the second had 1 km.
Very few residents and tourists felt the tremors as most were preoccupied with their post-Christmas tasks or enjoying the city’s various attractions.
Still, the OCD advised the public to stay calm and be on alert in case another temblor strikes. (
