2 wanted men in Maguindanao nabbed, grenades seized

COTABATO CITY –  Military and police personnel arrested two wanted persons but missed another man during separate law enforcement operations in the Maguindanao town of Upi, a police official said Wednesday.

Chief Insp. Erwin Tabora, Upi municipal police chief, said agents of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (CIDG-ARMM) and personnel from the Philippine Marines arrested Nashian Deloria, 46, in Barangay Nuro; and Ronelio Semillano Muyco, 58, in Barangay Rempes, both in Upi town.

Deloria was arrested based on a warrant for violation of the anti-drug law, issued by Judge Bansawan Ibrahim of the Regional Trial Court Branch 13 in Maguindanao.

Muyco, on the other hand, was nabbed in his house on murder charges.

Tabora said the two did not resist arrest during the law enforcement operations and voluntarily submitted themselves to authorities. Both suspects are now detained at the Upi police’s lock-up cell.

However, the law enforcers missed Haron Oranon, alias Kagi Haron, a resident of Sitio Tinindahan, Barangay Rempes during a raid at his house on the same day. He was facing charges for illegal possession of explosives.

“Two rifle grenades were recovered from the house of Haron,” Tabora said. He said a manhunt to get Haron is ongoing. (Edwin Fernandez/PNA)
