200k job order, contractual employees join SSS pension fund

Over 200,000 job order (JO) and contractual workers are now members of Social Security System (SSS)’s pension fund known as “Kaltas-collect” program. The SSS sees this as an indication of the growing awareness on the importance of SSS membership. The project, which has generated PHP2 billion collection, classifies JO and contractual staffers as self-employed, where their companies are tasked in remitting the contributions via salary deduction.
