
BACOLOD CITY — Two hundred ninety-three rookie policemen in Western Visayas completed their 60-day Basic Internal Security Operations Course (BISOC) in rites held at the Negros Occidental police headquarters inside the Camp Alfredo Montelibano Sr. in this city.
Chief Supt. Cesar Binag, director of Police Regional Office-6 (PRO-6), who witnessed the graduation ceremony on Wednesday afternoon, told the trainees to have the right attitude and take their duties seriously.
“Don’t waste the days you’ve invested for the training,” Binag said.
The trainees, all Police Officers 1, include 141 members of Class Sandigma under Supt. Robert Lingbawan of the Negros Occidental Police Mobile Force Company based at the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office in Bacolod City.
The remaining 152 are members of Class Sanlakas under Chief Insp. Yolando Lago Jr. of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion-6 with headquarters inVictorias City.
The top three academic awardees of Class Sandigma were PO1s Ruvic Bering, Yi Jon Ignacio, and Guilbert Romaldon while those from Class Sanlakas included PO1s Nelson Juanites Jr., Joshua Jake Sariño, and Eugene Mark Labrador.
Strongman awardees were PO1s Michael John Cordero and Marvin Mariano while Top Guns were PO1s John Anonoy and Val Geguinto of the Class Sandigma and Class Sanlakas, respectively.
Before the graduation rites, the trainees presented demonstrations based on what they learned from the course. Class Sandigma presented a counter ambush while the Class Sanlakas showed a close quarter battle response.
Insp. Charmae De Paz, Negros Occidental police public information officer, said the rookie policemen are required to undergo the BISOC training before they will be deployed and permanently assigned to various units under the PRO-6.
Other groups of new policemen underwent training in Guimaras and Panay.
After completing the course, they will be dispatched around the region to provide security for the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections on May 14. (Nanette Guadalquiver/PNA)
