3 killed, 21 nabbed in Bulacan police anti-criminality ops

CAMP GEN. ALEJO S. SANTOS, Bulacan — Three drug suspects were killed and 21 others were arrested by the Bulacan police in its anti-criminality law enforcement operations conducted Monday and Tuesday.

Senior Supt. Chito Bersaluna, acting provincial director of the Bulacan Philippine National Police (PNP), identified the three slain suspects as Marcelino Peña; a certain Michael; and an alias Pilan who were killed in anti-illegal drug operations conducted in the towns of Pandi, Bocaue and Meycauayan City.

“They all engaged in a shootout upon sensing that they were dealing with police operatives during the buy-bust operations,” he said.

Recovered from the suspects were 21 small heat-sealed sachets of suspected shabu (crystal meth); three caliber .38 revolver; several fired cartridges, live ammunition; and buy-bust money.

Of the 21 arrested persons, Bersaluna said that five were drug pushers – Eduardo Lugue; Roberto Mendoza; Jayson Bauzon; Regie Javier and Rhea Cabal, who were caught in buy-bust operations in Malolos City, Hagonoy and Santa Maria.

Others arrested include a motorcycle thief, a swindler, 11 illegal gamblers and three wanted persons.
