BSP honors stakeholders in Central Visayas

CEBU CITY — In celebration of its 25th Anniversary, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) gave its stakeholders in Central Visayas due recognition during an awarding ceremony at the Banking Hall of BSP-Cebu here Tuesday.

Bangko Sentral Assistant Governor on Regional Operations Sub-Sector Iluminada Sicat spearheaded the 2018 Awards Ceremony for BSP Stakeholders together with the BSP Department of Economics Statistics head Redentor Paolo Alegre Jr.

Sicat extended the BSP’s gratitude to its stakeholders in Region 7 (Central Visayas) for their exemplary support to the institution’s statistical initiatives, information requirements, advocacy programs, and effective delivery of its functions.

“Through your contributions, comprehensive information, and advocacy support, the BSP is better able to formulate policies towards our mandate of maintaining price stability and promoting financial stability,” Sicat told the awardees.

Among the awardees were First Consolidated Bank, Inc. as Outstanding Respondent among Large and Medium Firms; and the Kenko Tokina Silk Corp. as Outstanding Respondent among Small Firms in the Business Expectation Survey (BES).

The Philippine Statistics Authority in Central Visayas was named Outstanding Partner for Report on Regional Economic Developments in the Philippines, while the Cebu Credit Surety Fund (CSF) was recognized as Outstanding CSF.

The Bank of the Philippine Islands – Cebu Main Branch and 96.7 Bai Radio dyEM-FM & Negros Chronicle shared the Outstanding Regional Partner honors for Clean Note Policy.

Lee Super Plaza was awarded Outstanding Regional Partner for coin recirculation in Dumaguete, while dyAB – Cebu and Philippine Information Agency – Negros Oriental were honored as Outstanding Regional Partners for the Demonetization of the New Design Series.

The Outstanding Regional Partners for implementing BSP Advocacy on the Conduct of Public Information Campaigns were the Department of Education’s Cebu City and Siquijor Divisions.

The rest of the Outstanding Regional Partner honorees were the University of Cebu – Main Campus and the Negros Oriental State University for Knowledge Resource Network.
