MANILA — Three weather systems are enhancing the southwest monsoon that would bring light to heavy rains in most parts of the country on Tuesday.

In its 4 a.m. forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said that the southwest monsoon would affect areas of northern and Central Luzon.

The weather systems include a low pressure area last observed at 760 kilometers east-northeast of Basco, Batanes; a severe tropical storm with the international name “Leepi” outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility; and a tropical storm with international name “Bebinca” seen west-northwest of Laoag, Ilocos Norte.

The regions of Ilocos and Cordillera, the provinces of Batanes, Babuyan Group of Islands, Zambales and Bataan would experience monsoon rains.

Metro Manila, Occidental Mindoro, Calabarzon and the rest of Luzon will experience occasional rains due to the southwest monsoon.

The rest of Luzon will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rains or thunderstorms caused by the southwest monsoon.

Residents of these areas are cautioned of the possibility of floods and landslides.

Visayas and Mindanao would have cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.

Temperature in Metro Manila ranges from 25-29 degrees Celsius; Tuguegarao City 25-31 degrees Celsius; Baguio City 16-19 degrees Celsius; Angeles City 24-29 degrees Celsius; Lipa City 25-29 degrees Celsius, Metro Cebu 26-33 degrees Celsius and Metro Davao 25-34 degrees Celsius. (Lily Ramos/PNA)
