301 barangay officials face charges for anomalous SAP distribution

301 barangay officials were charged at the Department of Justice (DOJ) due to anomalies in the distribution of the Social Amelioration Program cash assistance.

According to Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Eduardo Año, the Philippine National Police- Crime Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) slapped the officials with graft charges.

The officials were officially charged with violation of RA 3019 (Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act), violation of RA 11469 (Bayanihan to Heal as One Act) and violation of RA 11332 (Law on Reporting of Communicable Diseases).
