The Department of Health (DOH) on Friday, Sept.16 confirmed the recovery of the third monkeypox case in the country.
The DOH said the third patient was “tagged as recovered” and has finished home isolation. The patient was released with a clearance certificate signed by a physician on Sept. 8.
Meanwhile, the 17 identified close contacts have already finished their quarantine and where all are asymptomatic.
The Filipino national had a travel history in areas with monkeypox cases, and was tested positive for monkeypox virus through RT-PCR.
Meanwhile, the fourth case of monkeypox was discharged from hospital on Sept. 14 and is currently in home isolation until all scabs fall off. No additional rashes or symptoms have been observed, according to DOH.
Eighteen out of the 20 close contacts of the fourth case had ended their quarantine and developed no signs and symptoms.
The other close contact that assisted the case in the hospital started home quarantine on Sept.15 and was asymptomatic.
The DOH reminded the public to continue to adhere to the government’s minimum public health standards, wear face masks, and get vaccinated for an added protection. –ag
