BACOLOD CITY — The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) bestowed commendations on Monday on its four personnel with notable accomplishments in recent weeks.
Senior Inspector Armilyn Vargas, public information officer of BCPO, said these policemen were recognized for manifesting high degree of professionalism, dedication, and loyalty to service.
Commended were Superintendent Richie Yatar, head of Bacolod City Mobile Force Company; Chief Inspector Jovil Sedel, head of Police Station 6; Senior Inspector Ramel Sarona, chief of Police Station 7; and Police Officer 2 Judel Obas of Mobile Patrol Unit.
Sedel led the arrest of a teenage suspect who killed an employee of the Bureau of Fire Protection in the past week while Sarona spearheaded the arrest of two wanted persons charged for illegal gambling on December 6.
In October, Sedel, with three personnel, also received the Philippine National Police Commendation Medal from the Police Regional Office (PRO)-6 for a successful drug bust that resulted in the arrest of suspect Joerem Valois and confiscation of 11 sachets of shabu on September 21, 2017.
The PRO-6 then awarded 33 policemen in Negros Occidental, including Bacolod City, particularly for the conduct of major anti-illegal drugs operations.
Six personnel of Cauayan Municipal Police Station headed by Chief Inspector Gary Alan Resuma also received the Medalya ng Papuri (PNP Commendation Medal) after surviving the ambush perpetrated by the New People’s Army in October. (Nanette Guadalquiver/PNA)
