4 suspected NPA members killed in Surigao del Sur


4 suspected members of the New People’s Army (NPA) have been killed in an encounter with government troops in Batangay Pangi, Tandag City in Surigao del Sur.

According to Philippine Army 36th Infantry Batallion Lieutenant Colonel Jezreel Diagmel, the troops encountered 40 NPA members when the group disrupted the troops in a quarantine checkpoint.

The military recovered the bodies after 40 minutes of gunfight. Authorities are still looking for those who escaped. – PTV News
