40 aftershocks logged after 6.3-magnitude Calatagan quake

Forty aftershocks were logged by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) after the magnitude 6.3 that hit Calatagan, Batangas on June 15.

As of 6:00 p.m. Saturday, June 17, Phivolcs recorded a total of 40 earthquakes.

Of the number, 19 were plotted, while none were felt. Magnitudes range from 1.4 to 3.1.

Phivolcs earlier attributed the 107-deep tremor to the movement of the Manila Trench, considering its depth.
