403 cops promoted to next rank in Region 9

ZAMBOANGA CITY — The Police Regional Office-9 (PRO-9) has promoted to the next higher rank 403 officers and personnel assigned in the region, an official announced Tuesday.

Chief Insp. Helen Galvez, PRO-9 information officer, said that 59 of the 403 who were promoted were officers and the remaining 344 were non-officers.

Galvez said two of the 59 were promoted to the rank of Chief Inspector, eight to Senior Inspector, and 49 to Inspector.

She said that the personnel were promoted to the next high ranks and these are as follows: three Senior Police Officer 4; 37 Senior Police Officer 3; nine, Senior Police Officer 2; 130 Senior Police Officer 1; 97 Police Officer 3; and, 68 Police Officer 2.

She said Chief Supt Billy Beltran, PRO-9 director, administered the donning of ranks and oath taking of the newly-promoted police officers and personnel held on Monday at Camp Colonel Romeo Abendan, this city.

Beltran said the promotion of the 403 officers and personnel is one way of recognizing their sacrifices, accomplishment and merit they displayed in the police service.

Based on records, a total of 2,500 police personnel applied for second semester second level regular promotion, but only 403 were promoted for reasons of limited quota. (Teofilo Garcia, Jr/PNA)
