44.8K Sinovac doses delivered for Davao City, DavOr

DAVAO CITY – A total of 44,800 doses of Sinovac vaccines arrived at the Davao International Airport via a Philippine Airlines commercial flight on Tuesday morning.

The vaccines were then transported to the cold storage of the Department of Health in Region 11 (DOH-11).

DOH-11 Director Annabelle Yumang said the vaccines will be distributed to this city and Davao Oriental.

“The 44,800 doses will be for the A1 (medical front-liners), A2 (senior citizens), and A3 (adults with comorbidities) groups,” she said.

Overall, the Davao Region had already received 432,050 doses from the national government.

Yumang said of the 301,060 allocated as first doses, 199,110 have been administered or a 66-percent consumption rate.

Davao City, with 2,485 active COVID-19 cases, is under modified enhanced community quarantine until June 20.

The region has an 80.6 percent recovery rate, with 4,793 active infections as of June 7 out of the total 30,741 confirmed cases. (PNA) -rir
