5.4 magnitude quake jolts Occidental Mindoro

A 5.4 magnitude earthquake jolted Occidental Mindoro on early Sunday and was felt in Metro Manila.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported that the tectonic quake occurred 22 kilometers from Lubang, Occidental Mindoro at 3:18 a.m. and has a depth of 75 kilometers.

Intensity 4 was felt in Calatagan, Batangas; Malolos City, Bulacan; San Ildefonso, Bulacan; Navotas City; Makati; Manila; and Parañaque City.

Intensity 3 was felt in Calapan City, and Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro; Talisay, Calatagan and Lipa City, Batangas; Bacoor City; Tagaytay City; Muntinlupa City; Malabon; Pasay; Pateros; Quezon City; Taguig; and Guagua, Pampanga.

Intensity 2 was felt in Magalang, Pampanga; and San Juan City.

Intensity 1 was felt in San Jose, Occidental Mindoro; Palayan City and San Jose City, Nueva Ecija; Gumaca, Quezon; and Baler, Aurora.

There has been no reported accidents due to the quake but PHILVOLCS cautioned the public for possible aftershocks. – PTV News
