5 out of 10 Pasay detention facility escapees rearrested

Five out of 10 persons under police custody (PUPCs) who escaped from the Malibay Detention Facility in Pasay were rearrested on Monday, April 13, according to authorities.

At about 4:30 a.m. Monday, the detainees stormed out of the detention facility by cutting through its metal grills.

The escapees were identified as:
Richard Dela Cruz (Violation of RA 9165)
Carlo Magno Benavidez y Legaspi (Violation of RA 9165)
Christian Salvatierra y Samson (Violation of RA 9165); rearrested
Norman Deyta y Punzalan (Violation of RA 9165)
Joey Hernandez y Gabriel (Violation of RA 9165); rearrested
Eden Garcia y Rodriguez (Violation of RA 9165); rearrested
Tirzo Galit y Navarro (Robbery); rearrested
Joseph Osorio y Canama (Violation of RA 9165)
John Michael Cabe y Medellin (Carnapping)
Joshua Pananiban (Robbery); rearrested

Based on the initial investigation, three of the detainees managed to break the iron bar of the facility.

The said detainees mauled the duty officer and took his service firearm, cash money, and assorted keys of the jail.

Southern Police District (SPD) said it will continue its manhunt operations for the five remaining detainees at large.
